If you have any pressure on your joints then you are creating a downward pull to the Earth.
if you come across a teacher of the Alexander Technique, ask them to grab a chair and show you whilst standing and sitting how to drop your weight to the Earth to allow the wonderful upthrust of release of pressure that accompanies an Alexander experience.
Your body is gently bought into an improved balance which allows this to happen.
